WDT – Weiterbildungszentrum Digitalisierung und Transformation
Digital transformation requires both an understanding of the technologies that are driving the current change and the ability to master the transformation – a challenge that many companies are currently facing. However, many organizations find it difficult to identify the market developments that are relevant to them, identify promising measures for digital transformation, and then implement these measures. Here, the “Weiterbildungszentrum Digitalisierung & Transformation” (WDT), which is funded by the Fraunhofer Academy, provides a decisive component for mastering digital change. The WDT is built on the regional structures of the LZE to efficiently establish the program. A consortium of four specialists from the respective fields was formed in order to focus different perspectives on the topic.
Consortium
It represents two geographical regions that are among the pioneers of digital transformation. The consortium consists of:
- the Chair of Information Systems, especially Innovation and Value Creation, at the Friedrich Alexander University (FAU), the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits (IIS) with its Center for Applied Research on Supply Chain Services (SCS), the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Systems and Device Technology (IISB) sowie
- the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB).
Program
The ability of the consortium to successfully design a training program was already demonstrated by the executive certificate program “Leading Digital Transformation” (LDT), which was piloted for the first time in 2018. Components of the new „Weiterbildungszentrum Digitalisierung & Transformation“ have already been successfully implemented in this program.
